All students received a yellow form in their folder this week.  This form must be signed and returned by Friday.  Thank you to those that have already returned it to your child's teacher.  If you have misplaced it, please let your teacher know so she can send home another one.

 **Important Reminders/ Dates**

·     Dec. 9th-13th : Penguin Patch in the lunchroom. Your child may bring money to buy Christmas gifts for their family and/or friends.

·     This Friday, Dec. 13th is Polar Express Day. Your child may wear his/her pajamas to school and enjoy hot chocolate while watching the movie.  Kids can bring a blanket and their favorite stuffed animal.
              
(Weekly tests will be given on Thursday the 12th)

·     Breakfast with Santa and our class party will be on Wednesday, Dec.18 at 1:30.  We will be wearing our Christmas t-shirts on this day. If you have not sent in a white t-shirt, please do so asap!
 
We are doing a book exchange at our party.  Your child needs to send a wrapped book by Wed. Dec 17. (Cost between $2-$5)

·     Thursday, Dec. 19th is the last day of school! It will be a half day with students releasing at 12:30pm.

Dec. 9-13 will be the Penguin Patch.  Here the students will be able to purchase inexpensive gifts for their family. 
Dec. 12- Yellow pod will give their tests on Thursday
Dec. 13- Polar Express Day- Children will be able to wear pajamas. Please send tennis shoes for P.E.

Reading:

Math:
Your child will be learning about fact families (1+3=4, 3+1=4, 4-1=3, 4-3=1)
Please continue to practice addition and subtraction at home.  Your child should be able to add problems with missing addends.

Handwriting:
Will be graded this quarter.  Your child must form letters correctly, they must be written touching the bottom line, have a finger space between words.  If your child's handwriting does not meet this criteria please practice at home.

Social Science:
We will celebrate red ribbon week.

Wed. Oct. 30th- half day of school.  Students will be released at 12:00pm
Our field trip to Lanark is Tuesday, Nov. 5th- cost is $7.00- please send in the permission slip and money, it is due Nov. 5th.
Book Fair- will be in the lunchroom Nov. 4th-8th
Nov. 5th- PTO Math Night! It is from 6-7 pm.
