Read Across America Week

The week of March 2-6 is Read Across America Week.  The book fair will be open all week!
Monday, March 2: I'm Not Going to Get Up Today-  Wear your pajamas
Tuesday, March 3: Fox in Socks Day- wear silly socks
Reading Night begins at 6:00; pizza will be served at 5:30, the choir will be singing and door prizes will be given.
Book fair will be open!
Wednesday, March 4: Wacky Wednesday- Wear wacky clothes
Thursday, March 5: Green Eggs and Ham- wear green
Friday, March 6: Cat in the Hat- costume parade (dress up as a Dr. Seuss character)

Field trip to the Let's Pretend Hospital is this Friday, Feb. 27.  We will leave school at 8:45 and return around 11:30.  You must have completed a background check to chaperone on the field trip.  All students must ride the bus.

Field Trip- February 27 to the Let's Pretend Hospital.  We will leave school at 8:45 and return by 11:30.  Please return permission slips and $8.00 by Wednesday, February 25.

PTO is having a coke fundraiser.  Even if you decide not to sell the drinks, please think about buying a case or 2 of any of the drinks your family likes.  You will need to come to the school to pick them up.  All proceeds go to a great cause- YOUR CHILD !!!  This fundraiser ends Feb. 13.
Progress reports will go home Feb. 12- please sign and return.
Feb. 10 begins Prime Time Reading- this program will be every Tuesday until March 17.  Please return your reservation form.  It will be from 5:30-7:00
Field trip to Let's Pretend Hospital will be Feb. 27-  Permission slips were sent home on Friday.  Please pay for this field trip as soon as possible. If you plan to chaperone you must have a completed and returned background check.  It takes a few weeks for those to return. 
Feb. Gotcha Party will be Feb. 27It will be a minute to win it party.  These are a lot of fun.  Please check your child's behavior log daily to ensure they are exhibiting the correct behavior to attend this party.  Your child needs 5 gotchas to attend the party.  They will need 10 gotchas to get a prize from the gotcha cart.

This is a family event that includes storytelling, reading and a discussion for parents and children.  This is a free event that includes a meal, door prizes, and gift books.  Please preregister by completing the form that was sent home in January.  If you are interested and do not have a form please contact your child's teacher for another form.
