Welcome Back

Happy new year to everyone.  We hope that you and your families had a great Christmas break.  We will have a delayed start on Wednesday, January 8.  Everyone should have received a phone call from Dr. Langham about bus pick up times.  If you did not receive a call you need to send a note with updated phone numbers to school.

The students will be taking the Unit 3 pre-test in reading and math this week. We will be covering the skills listed below but no weekly tests will be given.

Reading: 

·     Story of the week- “I’m a Caterpillar”

·     Sounds: er, ir and ur

·     High Frequency words – other, because

·     Contractions: ‘s, ‘ve, ‘re

Spelling words:

Math: This week the students will be learning about place value (tens and ones). Please continue practicing addition and subtraction at home.

Social Science: This week the students will learn about Winter.

**Important Reminders/ Dates**

·     Yellow Pod Dibels testing will be Tuesday, Jan. 14th. Please make sure your child gets a good nights rest and eats a good breakfast!

·     Next PTO meeting is Tuesday, Jan. 14th at 6:00 pm in the lunchroom.

• Report cards will be sent home on January 14th. 
•      No school - Monday, January 20th
  

• Choir will resume on January 23rd.

·     ½ day - Wednesday, Jan. 29th with school releasing at 12:00 pm due to teacher in-service.
